Senior Scholarships

Applications for 2022 Senior Scholarships are now closed.

A scholarship to St Margaret’s College offers a talented young girl an opportunity to further develop her education, nurture her talents and reach her full potential. Support from the St Margaret’s College Foundation allows many talented girls to attend who wouldn’t otherwise be able to. St Margaret’s College is proud to offer the chance for girls to experience the excellent learning environment and opportunities the school offers in a community where every student is cared for and able to develop academically, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

The following Senior Scholarships are available for 2022 for new Year 11, Year 12 and Year 13 St Margaret’ College students.

International Baccalaureate Claudia Wysocki Scholarship Year 12, 2022
Scholarships are awarded to motivated students who display proven academic ability. The International Baccalaureate Claudia Wysocki Scholarship provides up to a 50% remission of tuition fees for two years at Year 12.

Boarding Scholarships
The Boarding Scholarship provides up to full remission of boarding fees for new students entering the Senior School at St Margaret’s College in Year 11, 12, and 13

Sport Scholarships
We aim to offer a wide range of sports, catering to all levels of ability. An outstanding support network is provided through the Sports Office, including quality coaches, a fitness consultant and sporting mentors.
Scholarships are awarded to students who will benefit and grow in our environment, and who will in return represent the school with pride and school spirit. The Sport Scholarship provides up to a 50% remission of tuition fees for new students entering the Senior School at St Margaret’s College at Year 11, 12, and 13.

Performing Arts Scholarships
We aim to offer a wide range of arts, catering to all levels of ability. An outstanding support network is provided through the Performing Arts Faculty. Scholarships are awarded to students who will benefit and grow in our environment, and who will in return represent the school with pride and school spirit. The Performing Arts Scholarship provides up to a 50% remission of tuition fees for new students entering the Senior School at St Margaret’s College at Year 11, 12, and 13.

Important Information

  • Your scholarship application form needs to be accompanied by a completed St Margaret’s College enrolment form and all supporting enrolment documents, including $150 fee (if you are not already enrolled at St Margaret’s College) this can be completed at https://www.stmargarets.school.nz/enrolment/
  • You may apply for more than one scholarship, however, only one scholarship will be awarded per student.
  • A separate application, including all supporting documentation, must be made for each scholarship applied for.
  • Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand.
  • Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
  • Sibling remissions will not apply to successful candidates.
  • Part scholarships may be offered to recognize general excellence.
  • If the applicant is not successful you will receive notification by email.
  • Please note all decisions are final, no correspondence will be entered into.

Timeline for Scholarship

  • Applications for scholarships close on Friday 27 August 2021 at 4.00pm.
  • No late applications will be accepted.
  • Performing Arts applicants will be shortlisted and required for an audition and interview, the audition will involve a three-minute performance of dance and/or drama and/or music of individual choice.
  • Shortlisted students will be contacted for interviews with our Heads of Department and our Executive Principal, Mrs Diana Patchett.

SMC Old Girls’ Association Fees Assisted Scholarship

The closing date for the SMC Old Girls’ Fees Assisted Scholarship applications is 4:00pm on Friday 27 August 2021.
