Our vision for all our Junior School girls is to master their R.E.D.S and become:
Dynamic Thinkers and
We focus on developing these skills and attitudes throughout their time in the Junior School and see them as essential to helping our students thrive in their learning. They are specifically tied to the key competencies in the New Zealand Curriculum (NZC) and are identified as ‘the capabilities people have, and need to develop, to live and learn today and in the future’.
Our R.E.D.S program helps to develop characteristics that we envisage a St Margaret’s College learner to have. By encouraging the development of these attributes and celebrating our students’ successes we seek to ensure that they are well equipped to tackle any challenges that their future years may bring. We believe that the journey to mastering their R.E.D.S. fosters a positive learning attitude, encourages high expectations, develops empathetic and caring individuals and supports the forming of life long friendships.
