I later trained, and gained fellowship, in general practice. I have a broad range of hospital and general practice experience. My interests are in family medicine and in particular child and youth health – I have a postgraduate diploma in this area. I enjoy practising in the neighbourhood that I grew up in and contributing to the student clinics.

I have been a general practitioner for 25 years. I qualified at Kings College Hospital, University of London, and this was followed by four years of hospital medicine in the UK and NZ and a short stint as a ships’ doctor. My particular interests in medicine include children and adolescent health, and obstetrics and gynaecology. I have a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Fellowship of the Royal NZ College of GPs. I have two adult daughters and was a boarder at high school in England. I have been looking after St Margaret’s College boarders for the last 25 years and have enjoyed contact with the girls.
