Footwear for Floods

Date: 14th June 2021

Many of our Canterbury farming families were impacted by the recent floods.

With this in mind, SMC held a Footwear for Floods day last Friday to raise funds for the Rural Support Trust. Thanks to everyone involved; we were able to donate just over $1000 because of you.

Executive principal Diana Patchett says the school is keen to support the rural community.

“I have been in contact with Springfield School and Mount Somers School to offer our support. We will be sending their staff and students a morning tea to let them know we are thinking of them and our Junior School girls are putting together goodie bags.”

The Rural Support Trust supports people in the farming industry by providing farming or business advice, financial information, health, mental health, and counselling services. These services are extremely helpful during natural disasters.
