Christmas cake tastes best when it’s made the old-fashioned way and they don’t get much more delicious than the locally-made Christmas Fruit Cakes from the Pohutukawa Pantry.
The round cakes are full of apricots, raisins, sultanas, cherries and tangy citrus fruits, all soaked in local-made brandy for three days. Fresh local free-range eggs, creamy butter, rich dark treacle, brown sugar quality local baking flour plus seven yummy spices all combine to give that perfect homemade Christmas cake taste.
Hand-decorated with a variety of nuts, cherries, ginger and generously coated with brandy over eight weeks, these cakes will stay fresh and moist for months to come.
We’ll be having tastings at Maggie’s Café during the weeks of 24 October, 6 November and 20 November if you want to pop in and try them for yourself as well as on our stands at the Ellesmere, Ashburton and Christchurch A&P Shows.
Beautifully delivered wrapped and in a red gift box, the 2kg cakes are $60 each or $65 for a gluten-free version. Perfect to treat yourself and your family or friends as a gift. By supporting the St Margaret’s College Foundation, you are providing opportunity for current and future generations of girls.
