Sport
St Margaret’s values the girls’ involvement in sport. To facilitate this and to ensure support for all codes in the Primary, Middle and Senior schools, an effective structure is in operation.
The Director of Sport, is supported by an Associate Director and a full time Fitness Consultant.
Through the efforts of a knowledgeable and supportive team, there is ongoing inter-school competition provided, internal school events, personal fitness programmes, leadership opportunities, education and programmes that expose and develop students. Opportunities are made available to develop and maintain lifelong exercise habits in a sporting environment that is emotionally, socially and physically secure. Maximum participation through playing, coaching, developing skills in managing and as officials is promoted.

REP Programme
Vision
Aspiring and talented SMC athletes are nurtured in a quality performance environment, developing their sporting talents and achieving excellence in their chosen field.
The programme will offer an alternative means, unique to St Margaret’s College, for young talented people to engage in meaningful sporting learning experiences from agents outside the college, as well as from the College Sports Department.
Aims of the Programme
• To develop self- reliant students who are able to balance their sporting, cultural and academic programmes with clear goals and timeframes, setting high standards for themselves in all school activities
• To provide athletes with the best possible care and attention to allow them to compete to the best of their ability
• To expose athletes to a range of experiences which enhance their sporting prowess and make them better people, as well as better athletes
• To provide the athletes with mentors in their senior school years, who will offer valuable advice and support, and role model success

Personal Profiling
Mentoring
This programme will be offered to girls from Y9-13 who have excelled in their sport with priority to athletes who have Regional and/or National representation. They must also have goals of further pursuing their sporting achievements. Diligence, self-motivation and a hard-working positive attitude must be displayed in all undertakings of students being considered for this programme.
