Health Centre
Mrs Alison Beeney
I completed my 3-year registered nurse training on the Isle of Wight, England. I worked on an acute paediatric ward for 11 years followed by 2 years working with children in the community. As a family we migrated to New Zealand in December 2003 and in January 2004 I started working at St Margaret’s College as a Registered Nurse.
Since then I have completed my New Zealand smoking cessation practitioner training (having already completed the UK equivalent). The college has supported me in completing the New Zealand family planning certificate in contraception and family health. My role as the college nurse also involves being a member of the junior and senior guidance teams.
I enjoy all aspects of child/youth health and working towards a proactive model rather than a reactive, whenever possible. I feel well supported by the Doctors and staff at the St Albans Medical Centre where we have been able to develop a positive partnership of shared care.
Michael Morrison
I am a Partner at St Albans Medical Centre and am married with four children. I graduated from Otago in 1999 having completed degrees in science and medicine. I later trained, and gained fellowship, in general practice. I have a broad range of hospital and general practice experience. My interests are in family medicine and in particular child and youth health, and I have a postgraduate diploma in this area. I enjoy practising in the neighbourhood that I grew up in and contributing to the student clinics.
Andrea Caldwell
I have been a General Practitioner for 25 years. I qualified at Kings College Hospital, University of London, and this was followed by four years of hospital medicine in the UK and New Zealand and a short stint as a ships Doctor. My particulars interests in medicine include children and adolescent health, and obstetrics and gynaecology. I have a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Fellowship of the Royal NZ College of GP's. I have two adult daughters and was a boarder at High School in England.
